THC vs. CBD: What’s the Difference, and Which Do You Need?

THC and CBD are both compounds found in the cannabis plant, but they behave very differently.

THC

Tetrahydrocannabinol is the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis — it’s what produces the “high.” THC content is what’s listed as a percentage on flower and concentrate packaging.

CBD

Cannabidiol is non-intoxicating — it won’t get you high on its own. Many customers use CBD-forward products for general wellness and relaxation without the psychoactive effects of THC.

Products with both

Many products blend THC and CBD in different ratios. A higher CBD-to-THC ratio generally produces a milder, more functional experience; a higher THC-to-CBD ratio produces stronger psychoactive effects.

Note: This is general product information, not medical advice. If you’re using cannabis or CBD for a specific health condition, talk to a physician.
